My Passion!

        





  


Something that I am strongly passionate about that I couldn't stop even if I tried is singing, writing, dancing, learning, my religion, fashion and cosmetology. Although no one knows that I sing...well you know now; but I love to sing in the shower, when I cook, when I walk... I even sing myself to sleep at night. I also LOVE to write I have been writing since I could pick up a pen, I write stories of characters with crazy lives or even with perfect fairy tale lives. The lives that some of us only dream of or lives that are in our worst nightmares--whatever comes to my noggin! When reggae comes on I am unstoppable! I can dance all night If you let me...I always imagine myself on a Caribbean island dancing to the sound of the steal drums listening to calypso infused reggae; sipping out of a coconut(even though I hate coconut!) it just seems perfect that way. I love my religion also, I am still learning but it has helped me through so much and understand a ton too. I am a fashionista, I wish I had tons of money just to shop! I hope I don't sound like a typical girl but I love my clothes and purses. Cosmetology...eh I didn't go to school for it but I could tell you anything about hair or how to apply make up, guess that's why I consider it a passion of mines...a gal can't go without her make up! I learn everyday and I couldn't imagine my life without it. I love to learn about cultures and languages I think I have always been into that stuff growing up; being around such a diverse environment how could I not? Learning the native tongues of people and how they engage in conversations or learning about how countries culturally came together is the most exciting and intriguing thing in the world! I love it...

When I usually think about turning my passion into a career I think about my writing. Growing up I always knew I wanted to be a writer, that I wanted to be the one whose face was on the blurb of the book. That I would walk into class and everyone was reading the book I wrote. I was told by my parents and relatives I had to become a journalist of some sort to write books--they were wrong. I wrote my first book and published it last year. I am still making it perfect but one of my life goals is accomplished and that is what matters.

I believe that my passion for writing and being able to push myself to become such a driven artist could benefit the world. I want to be an example to every writer in the world who isn't sure if they are good enough to be successful. I want them to know that writing is an art and as long as you write to make yourself happy it will always have a purpose. Maybe I should consider opening a college or trade school specifically for writers and communicators, that will be a good way to give back to the community and enrich the minds of the youth.

Alchemist book review

 

 

 

 

Young Santiago searches for the meaning of life and happiness as he travels from his homeland in Spain to the great deserts of Africa. Where he encounters strange and wise people that help shape his journey, mind and future. This book explains the true meaning of: perseverance, working hard and focusing. Many times Santiago did not know where to go or why in many cases but he wanted to find his treasure and have a better life. That is what motivated him to push through. Although it was hard and it often is when you are moving ahead with your life you have to think what is more important? Santiago had to leave his sheep and the woman of his dreams to find his treasure which is difficult and shows how strong you have to be at times. It was about not only chasing your dreams but how to let go of the worldly things that try to get in your way.

What I learned from this book is that in order to obtain happiness or reach your goals in life there is a price to pay. What really stood out to me in this book that I could relate to was when he met the woman of his dreams and continued to go to Egypt. This relates to me because life it is about sacrifice and I have sacrificed a lot to be where I am; I have no regrets but it is hard. So I understand what it is like to move forward and hope that your sacrifice was worth it; like Santiago hoped Fatima was worth it and would remain loyal to him. Whether it’s losing all your money, working at a poor job to make ends meet or giving up the one you love. It is up to you to determine how much is enough when you’re in the pursuit of your dreams. Sometimes it is best not to know where you are going or how you are going to get there; they may be all that you need to make it.

 

What I didn't like about this book was that it was a bit unclear at times. I don't know if it was written that way on purpose, but towards the end when Santiago was speaking to the sun and wind it was hard to pick up; I had a hard time understanding. That was the only thing that I didn't really like about it other than that it was awesome! I loved everything else about it, the message, the order, the twists and the length. It was a simple yet a meaningful read. It is a great book to read at any point in your life it is always useful no matter what.

This book was an amazing read; it opens your eyes on so many things. This is a good book to read anytime but especially if you are trying to decide which path you should take in life as far as your career or dreams are concerned. It teaches its readers about determination and inner-self. I would recommend this book to teens and adults. If they had made a simpler version I would recommend it to children. I would most definitely recommend this book to a friend I am sure that all my friends would find this book it would be very helpful in their daily lives. This book helps you not worry about the unnecessary  aspects of life and focus on the present because it truly is a gift.

There are things in life you may assume will always be the same, that I guess in a sense we do take for granted. Although I do pray day and night, I am human and like many others I do take some things for granted--like the life I live. Yes I am grateful for having loving parents and a loving family but sometimes I don't always acknowledge the times I forget. When I got angry growing up I never thought about other children who had parents to spoil them or make them dinner at night or even wake them up for school when they were too lazy. it always seems to be the simplest things and the most crucial things in life we fail to recognize.

I am grateful for so much I don't even think there is enough room on this blog. However, I can start with a few things; I am grateful for God and the life I live and the wonderful people who inhabit it. I am grateful that I have gotten this far and I'm a college student. I have been through many obstacles and through the grace of God, family, love and perseverance I am the woman that stands in front you all. It is important to thank everything and everyone that has given to you, being grateful. in a stepping stone in life...just one of things you learn to do as you grow.

There is always the good to outweigh the bad n most cases and some of the good that one could always take in is that life is a learning experience. This is VERY significant to me because in order to grow as a person you have to understand you will mess up a time or two; maybe even three or four times. And that is okay, as long as you are trying to do better that third ad fourth time you screw up. I want to take in the preciousness of life, how wonderful life is and all the opportunities you have when you apply yourself. I want to take in the liberty we have as Americans to become whatever our hearts desire...the possibilities are endless.
